Description

Highlights of the 2007 FA Cup Final between Manchester United and Chelsea. The final was one of the most anticipated in recent memory, as the competition finale returned to its rightful home at the impressive new Wembley Stadium. The top two teams in the country, Manchester United and Chelsea, battled it out for the prestigious honour to be the first team to walk the 107 steps to lift The FA Cup. Chelsea were the last team to lift the trophy at the old Wembley, home to the famous Twin Towers, and seemed to feel at home under the new iconic arch at the new stadium. Chelsea dominated the game defensively, not allowing the talented United attack of Rooney, Giggs and Ronaldo to impose their normal verve and fluency. Jose Mourinho's shrewd manoeuvring ensured that the Chelsea back four, led by John Terry, acted as a fortress against the advancing Manchester United, which allowed them the opportunity to counter attack and eventually grab a late extra time winner through the brilliance of Didier Drogba.
