'24 Square Miles' (1946) is based on a 1943 Agricultural Economic Research Institute survey, looking at an area of 24 square miles around the town of Banbury and examining the local economy, the social life, housing and public administration of the area. 'Harting' looks at the small village on the Sussex Downs and looks at the close-knit rural community.
