Description

To coincide with the big screen adaptation of The Grinch, the world of video games has been given the same monstrous story for which cinema-going fans paid �4. The Grinch on PlayStation gives the green monster an additional third dimension over its GameBoy counterpart, transforming The Grinch from a small-minded puzzler to a huge 3D adventure. After taking control of both The Grinch and his faithful canine friend, Max, you can go into the game proper on a scrooge mission to ruin the Christmas of hundreds of Whoville children. Taking on a Super Mario 64 style of game structure, the huge base area of the game stems into a new set of equally large challenges. But in true 3D platforming style, certain requirements must be fulfilled (usually in the form of collectibles) to access deeper areas of the game. Gameplay is given a more variable feel after having given the player the chance to play as either The Grinch or Max, each with their own unique but necessary abilities. Max's size poses an obvious advantage from the outset, allowing you to pass through small holes that The Grinch cannot. The Grinch, on the other hand has a whole arsenal of bizarre weapons, such as a rotten egg launcher. With 3D platforming action of criminally good proportions and some devious puzzles, The Grinch has all the basic essentials that make a great platform game.
