Jake lives with his parents in an idyllic holiday hideaway hotel - the hotel's main attraction is that it is a 'kid-free' zone. But Jake is an only child and longs for the company of other children. When a couple from a holiday magazine arrive to doa feature on the hotel, Jake must keep out of the way to ensure they have a great kid-free time. Things don't go according to plan and Jake discovers disturbing things about the hotel's history. He also meets other children on the island and must find out who they are, and where they fit into the history of the place.
