Description

Documentary presented by British academic and politician Rory Stewart that explores the tumultuous history of Afghanistan. Despite being one of the poorest countries in the world, with few natural resources, Afghanistan has been invaded by three of the biggest Superpowers in history: the British Empire in the late 19th century, the Soviet Union in the 1980s and the United States of America in 2001. Stewart explores the history of these largely unsuccessful invasions and reflects upon the nation's sobriquet, 'Graveyard of Empires'.
