Ahoy me hearties! Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales is another addition to the popular genre of games that includes Sea Dogs, Age of Sail and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Set in the Caribbean seas of the 17th Century, gamers can choose to play as either an audacious mercenary named Blaze or a bold redhead known as Beatrice. You must then direct your selected pirate through the seas of the Caribbean using a zoom camera to your advantage. To be successful, you must plunder merchant ships, complete quests, trade goods, expand your fleet, capture and rule colonies and much more. In a pirate's world, there are countless battles at sea, many bloody fights, more treasure hunts then you can shake a stick at, and numerous dangerous adventures to contend with. As well as sailing, the game can be played in the third-person perspective. This allows your pirate to walk through captured colonies and create havoc with their sword.

The game offers total freedom without plot restrictions. Basically meaning, do what the hell you like, as long as you are prepared to face the consequences! When engaging in one of the many naval battles, gamers can lead squadrons of up to four vessels against opponents. With 16 different ships to choose from, each with numerous upgrades available, there should be a vessel suitable for every situation. It is vital to remember that the weather can actually be your most deadly adversary when at sea. Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales offers various realistic weather conditions, including storms and night modes.

Join multiplayer battles with up to 16 real captains and prove yourself in four different modes - Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Defend the Convoy and Capture the Fort. For the wannabe Blackbeards out there, Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales will have you pillaging and plundering your way to the local video game store.
