AIR AND SPACE is a new volume on the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum and its collections. The museum is the most-visited museum in the world, attracting more than eight million visitors annually. It features a vast collection of flight- and space-related material from all over the world but focuses primarily on the history and technology of American aeronautics and space exploration. Among the objects in its collections are the Spirit of Saint Louis (Lindbergh's plane for his history-making cross-Atlantic solo flight) and numerous craft from the NASA space-exploration programs.
