Documentary with a selection of tracks performed by the historic Cuban all-girl group formed in 1937 and whose career lasted till 1989. Playing traditional 'Son' music, Anacaona were a shock to the musical system in '30s Cuba not only because they were all women, some even minors, but because their music was heavily African-influenced - considered vulgar at the time. Here, they perform their most favoured tracks: Mambo Habanero, Hoy, Cicuta Tibia, Maleficio, Espiritu Burlon, Cielo Y Sol, Mambo Mambi, Besame, Aqui and Quiereme y Veras.
