Andy Warhol - Nat Finkelstein

One of the most significant revolutions in the art world took place
during the 1960s inside a ramshackle studio in New York known as The
Factory. Nat Finkelstein was there with his camera, documenting not
only the gradual emergence of a now-revered scene, but also the birth
of Pop Art at the calculating hands of its iconic creator, Andy Warhol.

Andy Warhol: The Factory Years 1964-67 is an extraordinary collection that features the weird, the addicted, the entertained and the famous.

Apart from a wide range of black and white pictures, the book contains an entire series of previously unpublished colour photographs that were assumed lost for almost thirty years. There will be about 80 black and white images and 30 in full colour. The accompanying text, consisting of sharp memories, poetic recollections and running commentary, provides further insights into The Factory group and the developments of the New York subculture. It includes seminal photographs from the Factory luminaries including Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, Allen Ginsberg, Salvador Dali, Nico, Marcel Duchamp, Edie Sedgewick and Velvet Underground
