Description

There's something therapeutic about games where you build an entire town and empire from nothing. These kinds of strategy games are equal parts relaxing, taxing and exciting as you create, progress and engage in combat respectively. Anno 1404 took this core mechanic from the genre and invited you to bring various cities to prosperity.

The focus of this add-on pack is Venice. As influential its leader Giacomo Garibaldi, you must take control of the influential cityscape and use your economical powers to make it a formidable force in the international battlefield. Yes, that's where all this is leading to - evolve your civilisation enough so that you can build an Armada, custom-build your own fleet, and engage in a campaign of conquest.

With this new city for Anno 1404, you also get 300 new quests and two new modes - plus the ability to play the game with friends in an online multiplayer mode. Up to four players can try their luck in the Versus mode, where everyone's cities vie for world domination. You can be cheeky with your approach as well and forming secret alliances with friends, sabotaging the expansion of opposing cities while you toil away back home. If you're more of a co-operative chap, you can join a friend in battling the AI.
