Description

Documentary charting the disastrous campaign from the Second World War that saw the Allied fleet trying to hold back the Japanese from the Dutch East Indies. The massed Allied fleet of US, British, Dutch and Australian ships was sunk within hours with over 2000 Allied lives lost, while the Japanese escaped virtually unscathed. This documentary won the Golden Calf award for Best Documentary at the 1996 Dutch Film Festival and was also the Dutch entry for the 1996 Oscars.
