Acid Jazz presents a stunning cover of Darondo's cult soul classic 'Didn't I' from Ariádne with New Street Adventure. Ariádne is a UK-based vocalist and songwriter, blending soul, jazz, experimental music and atmospheric production. As the founder of the nu-soul collective Mamilah, she came to the attention of New Street Adventure's Nick Corbin, who was looking to work with her on a project. A suggestion from the label sees them take on Darondo's much-loved 'Didn't I', appearing on this special 7-inch single. Now solo, Ariádne's debut EP Traces, co-produced with Ed Allen, received support from BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Introducing. Alongside her artist project, Ariádne collaborates across soul, electronic, and film music, known for a vocal style that moves between intimacy, texture, and improvisation. It is this shimmering sound that she brought to the recording of 'Didn't I', which allows it to inhabit its own space, away from the original. Tracked at the sessions for New Street's 2025 album 'What Kind Of World?', and produced by Corbin, it features a sumptuous string arrangement from Pete Whitfield.
