Documentary biography of Barney Rosset, owner of influential alternative publishing company Grove Press and editor of the literary magazine Evergreen Review. Often publishing highly controversial books that had been banned under obscenity laws including 'Lady Chatterley's Lover', 'Tropic of Cancer' and 'Naked Lunch' as well as works by Samuel Beckett, Kenzaburo Oe, Tom Stoppard, Che Guevara, and Malcolm X, Rosset was a passionate defender of free expression and endured lawsuits, death-threats, grenade attacks, government surveillance and the occupation of his premises by enraged feminists in his struggle against censorship and state control.
