Description

A Plague Tale: Requiem returns players to the disease-ridden world of 14th century France for a cinematic adventure that promises a deeply affecting experience of love and horror. You return to the character of Hugo, a boy with the supernatural ability to control the plague-carrying rats. You play as his teenaged sister Amicia, who's desperately trying to keep him safe and find a cure as powerful forces seek to control him. As a teenager you don't have much by way of offensive abilities - a sling, occasionally a crossbow or knife - which means that if you want to survive you'll have to stay hidden. Surrounding the stealth sections are puzzles (often involving the manipulation of rats) and conversations, as well as some endless runner style chases that involve you fleeing a tsunami of rodents. Requiem takes you through some stunning locations, some of which are stunningly beautiful, some stunningly grotesque, and it all adds up to the feeling of epic adventure. At the heart of it all, though, is a tender story of the fierce love between two siblings.
