The Cambridge Maths Direct 1 Assess and Review Lesson Plans provide ideas for structuring the Assess and Review days. Two lessons are given for each half term. A suggested order is given; the lesson plans can also be used in any order, to fit in with the school's own scheme of work. The lessons focus on assessing the key objectives in a daily maths lesson context, with oral and mental starters, direct (teacher-led) assessment, and plenary. Additional recorded activities are provided in the accompanying 'Maths Review Workbook'. The lesson plans bring in the use of probing questions, designed to elicit information about pupils' misconceptions.
