In 42 BC Rome is wrapped in a power struggle that threatens the very foundation of the Empire. Augustus, the young and strong-willed nephew of Julius Caesar returns to Rome, a city now stricken by Civil War and rife with conspirators some of which are against Caesar himself. Augustus goes to Spain to support his uncle (Julius Caesar) against the forces of Pompey. Even though they are outnumbered, they win a great victory and defeat Pompey. Caesar then honours his newly adopted son Augustus with a triumphal entry into Rome and then sends him to Greece to be further schooled in the art of war and diplomacy. But Rome is thrown into despair when news strikes that the conspirators have succeeded in the assassination of Caesar. Young Augustus must now seek revenge for this brutal murder and betrayal of his adopted father and try to defend his own birth right. To follow in the mighty footsteps of Caesar he must now earn the respect of Rome and the legions and fight against the many enemies who now conspire against him to restore the Republic. Augustus must now join forces with Mark Anthony (one of
Caesar's greatest friends) to battle the armies being massed by Brutus and his fellow conspirators. Rome is torn apart by war, ambitions tainted with betrayal and Augustus's own struggle to survive. This will be a struggle to the death and Augustus must win at all costs. His life story will be one of the greatest epic stories of history that would leave its mark on us all forever.
