A year in the life of the Isle of Skye - Bill Birkett

The Isle of Skye is a world of contrasts -
of mountains, of desolate brown moor, sparkling lochs, roaring waterfalls, sea cliffs and white coral beaches encircled by myriad islands floating in clear blue seas. Rich in history, as the backdrop to Bonnie Prince Charlie's flight from the English, it is the wild province of eagle, deer, salmon, seal and killer whale. Bill Birkett portrays the Isle throughout the seasons, from its awakening in spring to the icy grip of winter. In particular he focuses on the three key areas: the Red Cuillin, the Black Cuillin and the northerly and spectacular region of Trotternish.
