At thirty, Jane and Daina find themselves at different crossroads, each struggling to make sense of their lives and needing to find personal fulfilment. Jane is single and an accountant who dreams of being a jazz singer but afraid of taking risks with her career for a shot in the music industry. Daina lives in the States with her husband Dwayne and her two children. She is forced to re-examine the relationship and questions if her needs and ambitions are being met. After 10 years, the pair arrange a get together and meet in the Bahamas where they rekindle their old friendship and take a radical look at the chain of events that have changed their lives.On the island, Jane finds herself in a steamy sexual encounter with a single father from London and also meets up with an old friend who is trying to overcome the death of his sister. Daina fulfils an ambition to fly fish and spends time with Mother Peters, a seventy year old street peddler who gives her the benefit of her wisdom regarding men and relationships.
