He made his debut as a novelist while still a student at Tokyo Medical University, and was known for his mystery novels. Later his novelThe Kouga Ninja Scrolls- on whichBasiliskis based - became wildly popular. He died in 2001.
Masaki Segawa, creator of theBasiliskmanga, made his debut in 1997 with the seriesSenma Monogatari, which ran in the weekly magazineComic Morning. In 1998 he began his long-running seriesOnigiri Jyuuzou, which ended in the year 2000.Basiliskis his second long-running series and his first adaptation. He loves cats and watermelon, and currently lives in Funibashi.
