Stuart Townsend writes and directs this political docudrama chronicling events that took place in Seattle in 1999 when anti-globalisation activists protested against the World Trade Organisation's Ministerial Conference. The film combines real news footage with a dramatised narrative to depict the escalation of events over a five-day period from the point of view of characters on both sides of the conflict including city mayor Jim Tobin (Ray Liotta), policeman Dale (Woody Harrelson) and his wife Ella (Charlize Theron), and demonstrators Jay, Lou and Django (Martin Henderson, Michelle Rodriguez and Andre Benjamin).
