Documentary charting the history of British European Airways (BEA), a company that provided passenger airway services to Europe in the wake of WWII. BEA was set up by the British state in 1946 to take over the internal and European passenger flights which had been provided by the RAF in the Second World War and remained a separate entity until it was amalgamated into British Airways in 1974. This documentary tells the story of BEA with features on planes including the Airspeed Ambassador, the BAC 1-11 and the Boeing 707.
