The image of the Bedu, herding their livestock back and forth across the wilderness of the deserts of the Middle East, is an exotic and fascinating one. This book sets out to capture in detail that nomadic lifestyle - the traditions, the personalities and the colours - and to provide a photographic portrait of a people struggling to maintain their age-old bonds with desert and tradition in the face of the encroaching demands of the 20th century.
