Bending, Torsion, Buckling and Residual Stress.

How stresses are developed in bending and torsion and an appreciation that components can buckle long before they yield, is very important in the design of engineering structures.This book also looks at stresses that exist in a material even when no applied loads are present: residual stresses. It covers the origins of residual stress, how beneficial residual stresses can be engineered into components and the measurement tools that can be used to determine residual stresses.
