Benedict's bride - Janet Woods

Bereaved Amber Hartford is betrothed to an unknowing Viscount Costain, with Amber's dowry used to secure his estates by her plotting Grandfather. The betrothal is news to the Viscount but is preferable to handing over his estate. Fate places Benedict in the position of rescuing Amber, when her cousin, the heir to Hartford Estate makes Amber the object of drunken amusement. Benedict falls madly in love with Amber only for her to be abducted and held to ransom. Once again Benedict comes to her rescue, a duel is held between the two men. It is then Amber realises her true feelings and that Benedict does truly love her.
