Documentary following three high-speed runs made by the A4 4464 Bittern steam locomotive to commemorate the world speed record produced by its sister engine, the Mallard, in 1938. The train travels from London to York, York to Newcastle and then makes its journey back to King's Cross station. The programme features lineside, on-train and footplate viewpoints, as well as archive footage and interviews with crew, drivers and passengers.
