Description

Three episodes of the war documentary series showing how different countries carry out high-risk and high-profile assignments. In 'Assault On Al-Qaeda' we meet Al-Zarqawi, the most wanted man in Iraq. As the government's hopes of finding him were rapidly dwindling, the job was handed over to a top-secret task force known for their strengths in these situations. 'Operation Thunderbolt' tells the story of the raid on Entebbe in 1976. On that fateful day in June, Air France flight 139 was hijacked. As the 246 passengers on board were taken hostage in a terminal of Entebbe airport in Uganda, one of Israel's most elite task forces, Sayeret Matkal was sent in to defuse the situation. 'Operation Certain Death' follows the Royal Irish Regiment. In August 2000 when the unit was stationed in the deep jungle of Sierra Leone in West Africa, the gang known as the West Side Boys took several of the soldiers hostage. As news reached London, British special forces travelled to Sierre Leone to execute a rescue mission.
