Documentary charting the history of BOAC, the British Overseas Airways Corporation. BOAC was formed via a merger in 1939 and was to play a major role in the development of aviation from a specialist pursuit to a means of mass transport. This documentary tells the story of the company up to its amalgamation into British Airways in 1974, with special features on BOAC planes such as the Short Sunderland Flying Boat, pioneering passenger jet the De Havilland Comet and the Vickers VC-10 jet.
