Late in the year 2000, and the battle for the Christmas number one in the UK music charts is hotting up. In one corner, bleached bad boy and rampant misogynist/misanthropist Eminem. In the other corner, Neil Morrissey look-a-like and all-round good guy Bob the Builder. Only the latter character has made it onto the shelves of video game stores at the time of writing, so it could be a double whammy for the cartoon King of Construction. There is absolutely nothing too complicated about 'Can We Fix It'. Simple tasks and puzzles and a smidgeon of racing action are the order of the day for Bob and his collection of mechanical friends. There are plenty of mini games in this title to keep the kids amused and entertained, along with three levels of difficulty, so longevity is not a problem. In truth, and despite Can We Fix It being a one-player game only, the more children exposed to this in one session the better, as the prospect of junior aching to put one over on his/her friends or siblings is one that parents can look forward to, if only to get some peace and quiet for a few minutes.
