It seems that joyriders are to blame for the burnt-out wreck in Buckinghamshire woodland. But when firefighters break open the car they discover the charred corpse of a young woman in the boot. Establishing the car's ownership is easier than identifying the victim. Clues lead Superintendent Mike Yeadings' CID team to a television company filming at studios in Maidenhead. Only days before they were called to the horrifying death of the female director's once high-profile husband. There they find far more sinister action than filming: behind the production of the comedy series ALL FIRED UP, jealousy, greed, spite and lust are at work among the actors, production and technical staff, all vying for career enhancement.
