Documentary film about writer and journalist, Hunter S. Thompson. 'I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone,' he once wrote, 'but they've always worked for me'. As the title suggests, this documentary is more of a journey through the films based on his writings than an in-depth look at the life and death of the man himself. It contains archival footage of Thompson and the movies he inspired, as well as plenty of interviews with friends, family and the likes of John Cusack, Johnny Depp (who played Thompson in 'Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas') , Bill Murray (who also played him in 'Where The Buffalo Roam'), Benicio Del Toro, Gary Hart, William F. Buckley, Sean Penn, Harry Dean Stanton, Nick Tosches and Jann Wenner.
