Description

One of the things the Marvel Cinematic Universe has done incredibly well is take Iron Man from the two dimensional comics page and make the way he moves and flies feel intuitively right as he moves through time and space on the big screen. Iron Man VR, however, is the next step in that evolution of embodying Iron Man. Since VR first began appearing in our homes, some of the most successful games to use the technology have been those that transplant you from your living room and into a cockpit. It makes sense, then, to take that next step and make that cockpit a suit of armour, which the Iron Man suit essentially is. The game doesn't just put you in the helmet, it makes use of motion control to put you in control of the whole suit. Your controllers take the place of Tony's gauntlets, and pointing them down and using the T button will get you flying. From there you can steer based on where you point the controllers. Simultaneously, they also control Tony's famous repulsor rays. That's not all, however - developer Camouflaj has developed an innovative weapons switching system that changes between repulsors and various types of missiles (you'll change and upgrade these in your garage between missions) by changing the orientation of your controllers. It's a nifty system, and a necessary one - you'll need to change tactics quickly on the fly as you're facing flurries of airborne enemies, not to mention putting in some breakneck maneuvers to stay ahead of your enemies. Iron Man VR is, effectively, a flight combat game, but when you're the Iron Avenger you're in for a piloting experience unlike any other!
