Description

Double bill of documentaries which make use of archive footage from WWII to explore what life was like during the war. 'Home Front Britain', presented by actor Jim Carter, showcases a rare collection of Ministry of Information films which cast light on the preoccupations of those on the home front during the war. 'Victory in Europe' comprises a range of material, including newsreel footage and popular music of the time, to bring to life the victory celebrations. There is also performance footage of entertainers including Gracie Fields and George Formby who helped keep up morale during the struggle against Hitler.
