This work is a glimpse into actual sketchbooks used by master painter Charles Reid for the past 25 years. It gives the reader an insight into Reid's artwork, giving a critique of the work in his sketchbook - what works, what doesn't and, most importantly, why. Each illustration is presented as it appears in the sketchbook and is annotated to demonstrate how each effect has been achieved. The book also includes five step-by-step demonstrations in which Charles recreates some of his sketches, revealing further his approaches, inspirations and techniques.
