7-episode series following 'Long Way Round' motorcycle adventurer Charley Boorman in the Dakar Rally. The Dakar is one of the most physically and emotionally demanding races in the world: two weeks across several countries and some terminally inhospitable terrain, alone. The race starts for the first time in Lisbon, not Paris, from where competitors set out for Africa in a caravan of nearly 500 cars, bikes, quads and trucks - plus support vehicles - across some of the most stunning but uncompromising landscapes known to man. Like Long Way Round, the series follows Boorman at every stage, from his fastidious and grueling preparations for the event, to the finishing tape.
