A special edition of the accessible Contemporary English Version translation of the Bible, with additional notes and illustrations throughout to aid those interested in finding out about Christianity.;Church.co.uk is an initiative from Steve Chalke's Oasis organization, combining an interactive website with local events nationwide aimed at helping people to get into Christianity in an open-ended and non-threatening way. The church.co.uk website uses the idea of "God's house" as a model, with chatrooms on major issues of concern to people today and addresses questions of faith. The CEV Church.co.uk Bible is an integral part of the whole project, combining the Contemporary English Version translation with whole columns of additional material distributed throughout the Bible text looking at moral and personal issues. These all link directly into the different rooms on the website, and there is also extensive introductory material explaining where the Bible comes from, as well as how church.co.uk works.
