Featuring performances from the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Lucerne Festival Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, the set also includes the documentary 'Hearing the Silence' (2005), which traces the conductor's career from his time as musical director of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan to his involvement in the formation of both the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra.
