Community matrons - Sue Lillyman

This book is timely given the government initiative to increase care managers roles in the healthcare profession. These include practitioners not only from nursing but occupational therapists, physiotherapists and social workers. The authors of this book are selected from the course team and practicing case managers who have completed the programme and hope to assist other professionals in taking on this new role. This book addresses the areas of defining the role of case manager/community matron, supporting people with long-term conditions, defining protocols and guidelines, reviewing dilemmas and solutions by engaging patients in participating with their care and pushing and supporting the roles. It includes reflections on case studies that will assist other case managers to make decisions in relation to care.
