UK rock group formed in London by Justin Hawkins (born 17/3/1975, Lowestoft, guitar/vocals), Dan Hawkins (born 12/12/1976, Lowestoft, guitar), Frankie Poullain (bass) and Ed Graham (born in Lowestoft, drums). They won Best UK and Ireland Act at the 2003 MTV Europe Music Awards, and three awards at the 2004 BRITS: Best British Group, Best Rock Act and Best British Album for Permission To Land. The group parted company with Poullain in May 2005 and replaced him with Ritchie Edwards the following month. Justin Hawkins later recorded as British Whale.
