These catchup resources give students a firm foundation in reading and writing knowledge and skills so that they are ready to access the 11-14 National Curriculum for English.
With a focus on the essential skills and knowledge of reading and writing, the self-contained units
are divided into two sections:
- Reading includes: making inferences and referring to evidence, using knowledge of figurative language, text structure, presentation, and learning new vocabulary through reading
- Writing includes: using
grammar, vocabulary and spelling accurately, summarising and organising ideas, and writing for a wide range of audiences and purposes
