The study of building costs is no longer restricted to the analysis of tenders, final accounts and capital cost prediction. Allan Ashworth has recently been appointed Visiting Professor in Quantity Surveying at UNITEC Institute of Technology in Auckland New Zealand. He was formerly Course Director in Quantity Surveying at the University of Salford, and then HMI responsible for surveying education with the then Department for Education, and more recently Head of the Division of Surveying at Nene University College, Northampton. He remains a visiting fellow in Quantity Surveying at Nene University College and is also a consultant with the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
