Crimson Desert is a big, ambitious beast of an open world game. The vibe is very much high fantasy (though the language is very Game of Thrones), with a bevy of interlocking game mechanics making for a big, rich experience. You awaken on a riverbank as Kliff, one of the peace-loving Greymanes, having just survived a sword through the stomach and the evident disbanding of your crew. As is often the case with professed peaceniks in stories like these, your primary method of keeping peace is cracking skulls, so you dust yourself off and set about taking on your antagonists, the Black Bears, and putting your band back together. The once-peaceful kingdom of Pywel is a huge mess, however, with warring factions at each others' throats and, above it all, a mystical imbalance that threatens everything. A lot of different possibilities vie for your attention. The range of skills and abilities available to you is huge, and they mix together to create potent new combinations. The world itself throws up plenty of possibilities, too. It's massive, with alpine mountains rolling into towering redwood forests into deep red desert. The wildernesses seem to stretch forever, while towns and cities bustle with life and energy. Crimson Desert beckons with a whole universe of possibilities, and it wants you to explore.
