Description

It's the 1890s. The Wild West is coming to an end and civilisation is creeping across America's wild places. It's not the only thing creeping across the West, however. Horrors creep from the shadows, but they don't go unchecked. A secret society of hunters stalks them, with the promise of bounties, glory and power spurring them on. Those same things might spur them to shoot you too, however, should you be vying for the same kill. Hunt: Showdown is a match-based, first-person hunting game that pits you against not only its monsters, but other players as well. Each successful hunt will net you new gear and perks, but if you die in the field your character's a goner, along with all the goodies and skills they've accrued over previous matches. So getting out of there alive might well count as a success in this context. It's the tension created by this uncertainty that sets Hunt: Showdown apart. Each environment offers plenty of ways to get creative with your kills - both of the monsters at the heart of the game and of other players - but they also offer lots of ways for you to die, with incredibly high stakes if you do...
