Double bill of British thrillers. 'Dangerous Cargo' (1954), directed by John Harlow, is based on an attempted heist that took place at Heathrow airport in 1952 and stars Jack Watling, Susan Stephen, Karel Stepanek and John Le Mesurier. When airport cargo handler Tom Matthews (Watling) finds himself heavily in debt he is vulnerable to the approaches of a criminal gang who want to know the location of gold bullion at Heathrow. Will they - and Tom - get away with the crime? In 'Dead Man's Evidence' (1962), directed by Francis Searle, spy David Baxter (Conrad Phillips) is posted to Ireland when the body of a fellow British agent washes up on a beach. Evidence emerges that the agent in question may have been supplying information to the Russians, drawing Baxter into the murky waters of an international espionage investigation. Jane Griffiths and Veronica Hurst co-star.
