Description

Documentary on the Duchess of Hamilton steam engine which had a long and varied career. In 1939 she represented Britain at the World Fair in New York and travelled over 1.5 million miles as a passenger train. This documentary looks back at her first career and subsequent restorations. The chapters are: 'Introduction', 'The Restoration Begins', 'Boiler and Tank Return', 'In Steam Once More', 'An American Visit', 'Appleby to Leeds' and 'Conclusion'.
