A French film based on the life of Italian Farinelli, the most famous castrato opera singer of the 18th Century. Together with his composer brother Riccardo, they toured the Royal Courts of Europe with their performances. The two brothets shared everything, including their women. When a young girl recognises Farinelli's love for the works of Handel, she steals Handel's latest work in order to express her love for Farinelli. Farinelli thus breaks up his partnership with Riccardo, who subsequently sides with Handel. Farinelli and the young girl spend three years together in exile, but when Riccardo returns, old wounds are opened up.
