The taking of food serves an important biological function, physically and psychologically. While eating disorders are relatively rare in young children, feeding problems tend to be common. Despite the scale of the problem and the scope for useful intervention there is little literature on the subject. This book addresses this issue; it includes the different approaches and applications, the nature, development, maintenance and treatment of feeding problems. The text is divided into two parts: "approaches", where theoretical frameworks and perspectives are discussed; and "applications", focusing on clinical or applied research aspects of children's feeding.
