An ensemble drama focusing on the gulf between the classes. As young New Yorker Finn Earl (Anton Yelchin) faces the long summer ahead, he dreams of teaming up with his estranged archaeologist father, studying lost tribes in South America. But his dreams evaporate when he's caught buying cocaine for his addicted mother Liz (Diane Lane), a masseuse. Trying to put things right, Liz sets the two of them up in the home of former client (and possible lover), the ageing billionaire Ogden C. Osbourne (Donald Sutherland). Out of place at first, Finn soon adapts to life in the fast lane, developing a crush on Osbourne's beautiful granddaughter Maya (Kristen Stewart) into the bargain. But all good things come to an end, and when violence invades the tranquil surroundings, class differences soon return to the fore.
