Two films by British director Ron Peck. 'Fighters' (1991) is a gritty documentary following the real life struggles of a group of East End boxers as they attempt to take the first few steps on the route to fame on the professional circuit. It also looks at the comeback trail of former British Commonwealth Champion Mark Kaylor, and the mass appeal of boxing, constantly cutting between interviews, documentary footage and dramatised fight sequences. 'Real Money' (1996) is a gangster drama set in the world of boxing, with all the characters played by real East End fighters, ex-trainers, family and friends - all of whom improvise. Boxing trainer Roy Kane (Jimmy Tibbs) is determined to stop his young fighters being lured into a life of easy money funded by drugs and pornography. When his son finds himself in trouble, Roy decides to stir up old loyalties and sort out the local crime boss once and for all.
