Description

For years the poor Vikings have lived according to the will of their Gods, died heroically, and are now standing in front of the gates to Asgard to get admission to Valhalla - but the Gods won't let them enter! This doesn't sit well with a true Viking. Cast out and fallen from heaven, the northmen set out to regain access to the realm of the Gods at last and to finally take their place on Odin's table. While they are standing at the foot of an enormous mountain, they can see a magical portal on top of it. Undoubtedly, behind that portal will be the rainbow bridge Bifrost, the gate to Valhalla. So if you can't get into Valhalla via heroic death, why not try the footway. "Valhalla Hills" is a clever and unique combination of strategy and building simulation, inspired by classic game mechanics, which also breaks new grounds. Newly generated maps, diverse mountainsides, different altitudes and a well-balanced economy system will provide for endless new challenges and variety. The player has to lead his exiled Viking heroes to the top of a mountain, where a magical portal opens the way to Valhalla. To get there, the Vikings need to do one crucial thing: survive. To top it all, you'll have to face the challenges and dangers of the forbidding mountain landscape and find a way to the mountain peak. Because Vikings wouldn't last long in this environment, you'll have to provide shelter, food and warm clothing and assist them in defending themselves against ghostly mountain dwellers and wild beasts. Since Vikings have a mind of their own and wouldn't object to lazing around with a horn full of delicious mead, this is not the easiest endeavor. And then there's this new threat drawing near from the high seas...
