Leonard Nimoy directs this look at the foibles of marraige - which is based loosely on a speech given by Chicago Tribune journalist Bob Greene. Political cartoonist, Duffy Bergman (Gene Wilder) marries a much younger Meg (Christine Lahti) after meeting and falling in love with her at a book-signing session. Once they are married, however, Duffy wants Meg to give up work as a chef and start a family; but Meg fails to become pregnant. Frustrated at his lack of heirs, Duffy then starts seeing college girl Daphne (Mary Stuart Masterson) who he manages to impregnate. Can there be a happy ending?
